IOANNIDI

62 km north-west of the city of Ioannina you can find Papigo, probably the most idyllic area in the region of Zagori. The two villages - the Mikro (Small) and the Megalo (Big) Papigo - are built using locally sourced stone, and the traditional architecture of Zagori. Τhey were both nominated as preservation zones by the Ministry of Culture.

IOANNIDIS Traditional Pension.

It has been a pension since 1980, based upon specifications laid down by the Greek Tourism Organization. It was built prior to 1813, and has been fully renovated inside, with all respect to its special character.
Its privileged location offers a great view not only of the village, but also of the imposing mass of the Astraka mountain: and when the weather is good enough, there is nothing better than a delicious cup of coffee in the garden!

The IOANNIDIS pension has 7 rooms of two, three and four beds, with central heating, private bathroom and TV.

They are all built in a traditional style, each one with its own unique personal character: for example the room with its special handmade blue ceiling, or the room with the old barrel (made on the spot in 1813!).

There are also rooms with a fireplace, and in all of them you will enjoy, not only the warm atmosphere made by the stone, the wood and the handmade rugs, but also the great view of the village and Astraka Mountain.
In the kitchen you can find all that you need to make yourself a cup of coffee.!
