    I was born in Chania in 1963. I studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, after successful examinations at the Military School of Officers. I specialized in Ophthalmology (1991-1992) at the Ophthalmology Clinic of 401 G.S.NA and (1992-1995) at the University Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Crete, at the University General Hospital of Heraklion under the direction of Professor I. Pallikas.   From 1995 to 2016 I was the curator of the Ophthalmology Clinics of 401 G.S.N.A and N.I.M.T.S. as well as director of the ophthalmology clinic of the Naval Hospital of Crete for 14 years.   I am also the Scientific Officer of the Ophthalmology Department of GENERAL CLINIC GAVRILAKI SA   My specialty is the cataract with all the modern techniques, accumulating clinical and surgical experience of the last 25 years.   I also deal with the conservative and surgical treatment of glaucoma (anti-glaucoma surgery and valve insertion) as well as with the treatment of retinal diseases with intravitreal injections and implants as well as with removal of fins and other formations and tumors and tumors.   Finally, I deal with the correction of refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) with both Laser and intraocular lenses.   I am a member of the following scientific societies: Hellenic Ophthalmological Society Hellenic Society of Intraocular and Refractive Surgery Hellenic Glaucoma Society Panhellenic Ophthalmological Society Ophthalmological Society of Crete   As part of continuing, lifelong learning, he regularly participates every year in the following conferences: Annual Pan-European Conference of Cataract Surgeons & amp; Refractive Surgery (ESSCS) Annual Pan-European Glaucoma Conference (EGS) Annual Panhellenic (with International Participation) Conference of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Annual Conference (with International Participation) of the Panhellenic Ophthalmological Society
