    Open: Winter: Closed   Summer: Tuesday - Saturday : 08:00 - 20:00   Tickets: Admission free The Astypalaia Archaeological Museum is housed in a ground-floor hall, which was granted to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture by the Ecclesiastical Charity Fund of Astypalaia in 1994. The exhibition was organized in 1995-1996 and in the following years it was improved and enriched with the special audio-visual programme (Echorama). The museum was inaugurated in September 1998. The exhibition contains finds that cover a wide chronological range, from the prehistoric period down to medieval times. Reconstruction of the interior of a 19th c. mansion, including the dining room, living-room, storerooms, service rooms and photographic archives of the Vouvalis family.   • ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF KOS

    Open: Temporarily closed   Tickets: Full: €3, Reduced: €2 In the Archaeological Museum of Kos there are all the findings that came to light during excavations carried out in the island since the beginning of the century to today, mainly from the archaeological sites of Market and West archaeological site, as well as individual monuments, such as the Altar of Dionysus, the Odeon and the Roman House (Casa Romana). The exhibition of sculptures that works in the Museum brings together works dating from the Hellenistic to the post Roman years and aims to show the general public the most important works of sculpture from Kos.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF NISYROS

    Open: Winter: Tuesday to Sunday : 08:00 - 15:00 Monday : Closed   Summer: Monday to Saturday : 08:30 - 15:00 Sunday : Closed   The Archaeological Museum of Nisyros at Mandraki is a creation of the initiative of the Giannidis brothers, with whose money built the building that also houses allocated to the Ministry of Culture in 2001. It includes findings from prehistoric plant in volcanic islet Glass, opposite Nissiros, the which date back to the Final Neolithic Period of the 4th millennium BC, where excavations have revealed an intact Neolithic oval building, remains of other buildings, and cemetery. Also out rich finds from the necropolis of the ancient city, dating from the Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic Period.   The museum includes discoveries from the early Christian, Byzantine and post-Byzantine Nisyros. Early Christian capitals of the 5th and 6th century AD, depiction of Middle Byzantine iconostasis from the church of Panagia Spiliani, parts of frescoes of the Byzantine churches of the island, visual material about the most important churches, castles and knights icons of post-Byzantine churches Nisyros.

Mycenaean jewelry, vases and small objects from burial ensembles of Ialyssos and Kamiros of the Geometric to the Classical period (9th-4th century BC), sculptures of Classical and Hellenistic periods and coins Rhodian Hellenistic are the main exhibits. The exhibition aims to highlight the major findings from Rhodes to help illustrate the ancient history of the place.

  • GRAND MASTER PALACE

    Open: Winter: Tuesday-Sunday 08.00-15.00 Closed on Monday Summer: Daily 08.00-20.00   Tickets: Full: € 6, Reduced: € 3   The Grand Master's Palace is perhaps the most important monument of the Knights. During the Italian restoration, in 1930, the building received its current layout, making it the headquarters, but also the residence of the Italian commander. In the halls of the first floor, visitors can admire the mosaics carried over from the Italians, mainly from secular and ecclesiastical buildings of Kos, in order to decorate the Palace. Apart from the impressive mosaics, there are also columns and capitals, medieval furniture, mirrors, paintings, candlesticks and other objects complete the decoration of the imposing edifice.   On part of the ground floor of the Palace, in successive halls, it houses the permanent exhibition of 4th DAC entitled "Rhodes from early Christian times until its conquest by the Turks (1522)." This includes various finds from excavations conducted in the Medieval City (ceramics, sculptures, frescoes, icons, miniatures, etc.)

  • KASTELLORIZO ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

    Open: Winter: CLOSED   Summer: From 1/7 - 31/10 8:00-19:30   The exhibition of Kastellorizo historical collection is housed in the mosque of the island, built in 1755-1756. It includes material related to the modern history of the island, from the mid-19th to mid-20th century. Through texts and exhibits trying to give the image of rise and fall of Kastellorizo. The exhibition was designed in such a way as not to lose the architectural elements of the monument (dome, plumes, prayer niche, balcony, loft). Divided in paraato sections: 1) Background with subsections history of the mosque, the topography of the island, relations with Asia Minor, 2) Settlement with subsections architecture of houses and the earthquake of 1926, 3) Daily life with subsections elements of a house architectural and interior design, costume male and female, the revolution of 1913, education and economy, stamps, 4) French occupation, 5) Italokratia, 6) Liberation-Integration.   Exhibition Units:   Background, village, daily life, the revolution of 1913, French-Italian occupation, liberation-integration.

  • MUNICIPAL GALLERY OF RHODES

    Open: Winter: From the 1st of November until the 31 of March: 8:30-15:00   The Gallery today houses one of the most representative and authoritative collections of 20th-century Greek painting. Most of the Greek painters who worked creatively during these nine decades, developing the features of modern Greek painting, are represented in this collection through some of their most characteristic works.   There are works which marked the creative evolution of these artists, and which were presented in formal exhibitions both in Greece and abroad. The collection of the Municipal Art Gallery includes works by K. Maleas, C. Parthenis, F. Kontoglou, Theophilos, N. Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, Sp. Vassiliou, J. Spyropoulos, Y. Gaitis, Fassianos, Kessanlis, Chr. Botsoglou, Moralis, Tsarouchis and many other Greek artists.

  • RHODES DECORATIVE ARTS COLLECTION

    Open: Temporarily closed   Tickets: 2,00 €   The Popular Decorative Arts Collection of Rhodes is housed in the Hospitaller period building known as the Arsenal, on Argyrokastrou Square. In comprises wood carvings, chests and other traditional furniture, embroideries, pottery, metal objects, examples of the so-called Lindian ware and traditional costumes from various Dodecanese Islands (Symi, Karpathos, Rhodes, Nisyros, Tilos, Chalki) and other parts of Greece. The Decorative Arts Collection, in its present form, also includes exhibits derived from the Folk Archive of the Dodecanese and several post-1948 acquisitions derived from private gifts, archaeological excavation and confiscations.

  • VOUVALIS MANSION

    The Vouvalis Mansion is a three-storey building with underground storage vaults. There are eight rooms on the ground floor, five on the first floor and another five on the second floor.It was built in two stages: the original structure was smaller, part of the dowry of Katherine Pelekanos, who married Nicholas Vouvalis, the wealthiest sponge-merchant of his time on Kalymnos. Vouvalis modified and enlarged it in the 1890s, also adding the second floor. Today the Vouvalis Mansion, with furnishings of the period in the dining room, the salon and the owner's office, is open to visitors (of may be seen by arrangement). Other rooms are used for the storage of archaeological finds.
