The Folklore Museum is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and it is a member of the Greek Department of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
Its purpose is to rescue, preserve and ensure all kinds of folklore oblects of Greece, and in particular a) to create archives of folklore studies and b) the establishment and installation in Stemnitsa Folk Museum.
The Folklore Museum first presented reconstructions of traditional workshops, interior of a stemnitsa house and there are also Byzantine icons, metalwork, pottery, woodwork, embroidery, costumes, ecclesiastical utensils, shadow theater figures sculpture by puppet theater player Lambros Karadimas.
