The Museum of Amphipolis is a versatile set of premises and human resources with many different functions in relation to the protection and enhancement of antiquities. In Museum exhibition one can know the history of the ancient city and the immediate area. In warehouses and laboratories ensure the safekeeping and maintenance is performed and the study of the findings archaeological excavations brought to light.
In the exhibition hall, the lobby, the silver reliquary exposed and gold wreath of olive leaves found in a cist grave, where you are now built the museum.
The exhibition is organized in chronological and thematic sections:
I) Prehistory
II) Early Historical Period
III) Classic and Hellenistic Period
IV) Roman Period
V) Early Christian times
VI) Byzantine times
