The Cave Castle is the largest known cave in Kalavryta and Kleitoria, with an impressive entrance, which always looked that it would cause interest. The connection of the cave to the myth of Proitidon and Melampus considered successful, since in no other large caves and the description of Pausanias (Arcadian II, 18, 7) is rather favorable for a similar identification. It is 2 km. North of the village castle and 17 km. South of Kalavryta at an altitude of 800 m. The area was pretty rough before construction of the road Kalavrita Kleitoria that passes today just a few meters in front of the cave .
The Cave of the Lakes is a fairly rare event stratigraphic continuity from the Neolithic to the Early, Middle and Late Bronze Age.
